Andy Burnham, the former mayor of Manchester, was chosen by King Charles III to be the new British Prime Minister. He promised to transfer political and economic power back to the state sector and from London to the regions. He wants to establish his party as a popular force, free from factional conflicts. Now expectations are high for him. But the problems are just as great. Burnham must rebuild the shaky ruling party and revive the collapsed British economy. Interesting. Prime Minister Andy Burnham said outside 10 Downing St today: "Later this year, I will bring forward a new plan for Britain, a 10-year plan, laying out a path from where we are now to where I believe we all want Britain to be, wherever we're coming from, whatever party we support." • Two five year terms? Does this mean that he is planning to call a general election in the Autumn? More news and analysis on @GBNEWS all day.

Andy Burnham, leader of the UK Labour Party, has become the country's new Prime Minister. Following Keir Starmer's resignation as Labour Party leader and Prime Minister, Andy Burnham assumed the role of Prime Minister after receiving the mandate to form a cabinet from King Charles III of England. Who is the new Prime Minister Andy Burnham? Born on January 7, 1970, in Aintree near Liverpool, Andrew (Andy) Murray Burnham received his primary and secondary education in Catholic schools before graduating from Cambridge University. After working as a journalist for a time, Burnham joined the Labour Party at the age of 15 and served as an advisor to the Minister for Culture, Media and Sport, Chris Smith, for three years before being elected a Member of Parliament in 2001. Burnham held various Ministerial positions in the Ministries of Health, Treasury, Culture and Home Affairs in the Tony Blair and Gordon Brown governments, and in the years of opposition after 2010... He served as Shadow Minister for Education, Home Affairs and Health.
