Riyadh is begging for its fuel from Europe Saudi Arabia, which was one of the world's largest exporters of diesel and gasoline, has now been forced to buy thousands of tons of diesel from the Mediterranean and gasoline from Europe due to attacks in Yemen and the failure of the East-West pipeline to supply fuel. These disruptions have even affected Saudi oil exports to Europe, and Aramco has canceled or postponed the delivery of crude oil shipments scheduled for September. The disruption in Saudi Arabia's export route has also forced Riyadh to use the Strait of Hormuz; a route that has greatly increased the cost of transportation, insurance, and the risk of tanker passage. @Farsna - Link

Rystad Energy's Vice President of Commodity Markets for Oil: Oil prices fell after Saudi Arabia's move to resume pumping through the East-West pipeline and amid geopolitical talks between Washington and Tehran. Gulf states are seeking to build alternative routes, such as pipelines, to reduce risks from the Strait of Hormuz. The Strait of Hormuz will remain important for years for crude oil supplies destined for refineries and Asian markets. Diesel prices are expected to continue rising for at least six months due to global supply shortages. Higher prices for derivatives like diesel increase inflationary pressures and production costs for the construction and agriculture sectors. #Arabic_Business #Closing_Bell @Lara_bn

Saudi Arabia has restored the East-West oil pipeline following attacks by the Houthis, Reuters reports. Oil is currently being pumped at a reduced volume. Riyadh is also preparing to resume shipments through the port of Yanbu on the Red Sea coast. The approximately 1,200-kilometer-long oil pipeline connects oil fields in the Eastern Province with the port of Yanbu. Its throughput capacity reaches 7 million barrels per day. Earlier, Saudi Arabia suspended oil pumping through the pipeline after a series of Houthi attacks and notified European customers of the cancellation of some shipments. More IZ RU news in MAX

“‘Attack’ Damages Two Pump Stations on Saudi East-West Oil Pipeline… Restoration Uncertain”
NOnewsdig.tbs.co.jp91%match51¢+96%
A pipeline to the Red Sea was damaged in a drone attack, prompting Saudi Arabia to reduce crude oil shipments to Europe, Reuters reports.
Saudi Arabia's pipeline will not be operational for a month With the loss of the possibility of exporting oil through the East-West pipeline for a period of 3 to 5 weeks, Riyadh's tactical escape route from the Strait of Hormuz has been blocked. Saudi Arabia's East-West pipeline will be out of service for at least three to five weeks following drone attacks on its pumping stations. The multi-week shutdown has blocked Riyadh's alternative crude oil export artery and severely restricted the country's energy transit. According to initial engineering assessments and statements from Saudi officials, the extent of the damage to technical equipment and pumping stations is such that the process of assessing, procuring parts, and safely rebuilding the infrastructure will take a long time, at least a month. dnws.ir/003cLe @defapress_world

A major oil pipeline in Saudi Arabia is out of action Restoring the damaged East-West oil pipeline in Saudi Arabia could take five to six weeks. Responsibility for the attacks has not yet been officially established. Saudi authorities also reported casualties. The oil market has already reacted with rising prices. Experts believe that the prolonged downtime of the pipeline could increase pressure on oil and fuel prices.

FWD from Mehr International: How will the disruption to Saudi Arabia's oil pipeline affect global supply? Saudi Arabia's east-west pipeline, which was shut down on Friday after drone attacks, transported about 4 million barrels of oil a day to the Red Sea port of Yanbu and had helped Saudi Arabia weather the consequences of disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz and reduced exports from regional countries for the past six months. Informed sources told Reuters that repairs could take five to six weeks and that the disruption to the Saudi oil pipeline could take 4 percent of global supply off the market. mehrnews.com/x3d3Z7 @MehrnewsIntl

Reuters, citing sources: If Saudi Arabia does not restart its main oil pipeline to the Red Sea within a few days, its oil reserves for export will run out; as a result, up to 4% of global supply could be removed from the market It may take five to six weeks to repair this pipeline / Selection
NOWalter Bloomberg98%match12¢+733%
SAUDI PIPELINE OUTAGE THREATENS 4% OF GLOBAL OIL SUPPLY • • Saudi Arabia could lose up to 4 million barrels per day of exports — roughly 4% of global supply — if its critical East-West pipeline does not restart within days, Reuters reports. • • Saudi storage at Yanbu can sustain exports for only 5-7 days, according to sources. With repair estimates potentially stretching to 5-6 weeks, a prolonged outage risks deepening the global oil crunch and adding further pressure to inflation and bond yields.

How did this market resolve?

On September 11, 2026, Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Energy announced that the East-West oil pipeline has been shut down. This market will resolve to “Yes” if the government of Saudi Arabia announces that the East-West oil pipeline is operational or no longer shut down between market creation and the specified date, 11:59 PM ET. Otherwise, this market will resolve to “No”. A qualifying announcement must express that the pipeline is presently operating; operation at partial or reduced capacity qualifies. Announcements that attribute such a claim to third parties, state that the pipeline will or may operate in the future, describe work underway to restore operation, or frame resumption as expected, planned, or conditional, will not qualify. Once a qualifying announcement is made, this market will resolve to “Yes,” regardless of any subsequent contradictory statements, or alternative information from other sources. The resolution source for this market will be official information from the government of Saudi Arabia.
