SpaceX launched the largest rocket in human history tonight. The 124-meter Starship V3 is a colossus as tall as a 40-story building and has a thrust of almost 8,000 tons. It is more powerful than the legendary Saturn V, which carried people to the Moon, and NASA's newest lunar rocket, the SLS. This is not a flight to Mars yet, just a test. But Starship is being created specifically for the colonization of the Red Planet. According to calculations, the ship can already deliver up to 100 tons of cargo there in a single flight - from equipment to future colonists. The main problem is that returning back is almost impossible. While humanity can already fly to Mars, lifting a rocket from the planet's surface and sending it back is not yet possible. That is why SpaceX is betting on methane. It can theoretically be produced right on Mars from water and carbon dioxide. In the future, robots may be sent there first to build factories and prepare fuel for humans. The flight itself will take about an hour. Two and a half minutes after liftoff, the first stage will separate and splash down in the Gulf of Mexico. The ship will then fly over the Atlantic and Africa, before landing in the Indian Ocean.
