Decisions to change the key rate remain the "power and prerogative" of the Central Bank, and the Kremlin still trusts the regulator's decisions, Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov stated in an interview with Life journalist Alexander Yunashev. At its meeting on Friday, April 24, the Bank of Russia cut its key rate by 0.5 percentage points to 14.5%. This marks the eighth consecutive rate cut. This is also the fifth consecutive time the Central Bank has lowered the key rate by half a percentage point. "This is the decision of our mega-regulator; it's their authority, their prerogative. Therefore, we need to rely on the Central Bank's position here. It's their prerogative," Peskov said. RBC Channel in "Max" RBC app for iOS and Android
