Live: If Senator Mitch McConnell, Republican of Kentucky, remains absent from the Senate, three Republican votes against Todd Blanche would sink his nomination for attorney general. Senator Lisa Murkowski of Alaska became Friday morning the second Republican to say she would oppose his nomination in a floor vote, joining Senator Susan Collins of Maine. Senator Bill Cassidy of Louisiana has not announced his position, but his opposition could lead to Blanche’s rejection. Democrats uniformly oppose his nomination.
