President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, in a joint press conference held after his meeting with Polish President Karol Nawrocki, stated that the strategic partnership between Turkey and Poland is growing stronger every day. The President noted that many issues were discussed during the meetings, primarily trade, investment, defense industry, energy, transportation, and human relations. Recalling that the trade volume between the two countries has reached 10 billion dollars, the President stated that the new target is 15 billion dollars and that work is continuing in this direction. He also stated that the projects undertaken by Turkish contracting firms in Poland demonstrate the level reached in economic relations. Stating that the defense industry is one of the important areas of cooperation between Turkey and Poland, the President said that previously implemented joint projects provide a strong foundation for new endeavors. He emphasized that as two NATO allies playing a significant role in Europe's security and defense structure, there is a shared will to further develop cooperation. Our President stated that steps to be taken in areas ranging from education to culture, science to tourism will further strengthen the friendship between the two countries. He noted that Turkey-European Union relations and regional and global developments were also evaluated during the meetings, and said that Turkey continues its commitment to developing its relations with the European Union on the basis of mutual benefit and respect. Our President stated that the NATO agenda was also discussed, and that they made assessments regarding strengthening the European wing of the alliance, increasing deterrence, and developing solidarity among allies before the NATO Summit to be held in Ankara in July.

As we have emphasized on every occasion, we have the will to advance our cooperation with the European Union on the basis of mutual benefit and respect. On this occasion, I would like to thank Poland for its support for our EU membership process and hope that this support will continue to increase. We also evaluated the developments in the context of NATO together with the President. Strengthening the European pillar of the alliance and reinforcing its deterrence is our common priority within the framework of the NATO Summit that we will hold in Ankara on July 7-8. In this regard, we consider it important to strengthen the transatlantic bond, such as European allies assuming more responsibility."

Poland is among the countries where our contracting firms are most active, with projects worth approximately $9 billion. We hope that the number of these projects will increase even further."
