Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić has resigned. He intends to actively participate in the election campaign, Blic reports. Serbian parliamentary elections are scheduled for October 25. The Serbian Progressive Party has nominated him as a candidate for prime minister.
Serbian President Vučić will resign on September 27 On September 9, the Serbian president approved decisions to dissolve the National Assembly (unicameral parliament) of the republic and call early elections for October 25. Later, Vučić also announced that he would resign at the end of September and would prepare for early parliamentary elections as an ordinary citizen. “I will resign as president on the 27th,” Vučić said on the Pink TV channel. Before this, the chairman of the ruling Serbian Progressive Party, Miloš Vučević, announced that Vučić would head the list of the political force in the upcoming parliamentary elections and become its candidate for prime minister.

This market will resolve to the next individual who officially assumes the office of Prime Minister of Serbia by June 30, 2028, 11:59 PM ET.
To count for resolution, the individual must be elected by the National Assembly and be formally sworn-in, resulting in the official formation of a new government. Any interim or caretaker Prime Minister who is not elected by the National Assembly will not count toward the resolution of this market.
If no such Prime Minister takes office by June 30, 2028, 11:59 PM ET, this market will resolve to “Other”.
This market will resolve based on a consensus of credible reporting. If there is ambiguity, this market will resolve solely based on official information from the Serbian government.
