Next Prime Minister of Romania?

The first new bridge to be built between Romania and Moldova in 60 years. The roads that unite are the most concrete form of friendship and neighborliness. Today, at the Victoria Palace, I participated in the signing of the agreement between the Government of Romania and the Government of the Republic of Moldova and the contract for section 4 of the A8 Motorway, the Iași - Ungheni segment, which includes the first kilometers of highway on the territory of the Republic of Moldova, built through a joint project of the two governments. The alert pace of work of my colleagues from the Ministry of Transport was incredible, I congratulate them for that. Beyond kilometers of asphalt and bridges, this project says something essential: the European path of the Republic of Moldova is no longer just a political statement. It is a highway between brothers with assured European funding, it is a strategic corridor that connects the European Union to its eastern neighborhood exactly at the moment when these connections matter the most, and for Romania's economic growth, border transit, easy access and for tourist purposes to Iași. Funding through the European SAFE instrument clearly shows that security and connectivity go together and connecting with neighboring countries was also the stake that allowed the financing of highway sections in Romania through this instrument. Congratulations to the team that brought the project to this point, to Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan, Deputy Prime Minister Radu Miruță and colleagues from Transport, as well as to our partners in Chișinău represented by Deputy Prime Minister Vladimir Bolea and the team of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development. The extraordinary session of the Ministerial Conference of the Francophonie has opened in Paris. For the first time in the history of the OIF, candidates for the position of Secretary General are being interviewed by the ministers of the full member states and governments, a real step forward for the transparency of our organization.
